“$96 to the ton”

Several days ago, I wrote a post about my great grandfather David Lyman Blacker and his successful mining endeavors.  Here is a transcription of one of the earliest newspaper articles I have located regarding some of his early efforts.

RADERSBURG.—-Messrs. Blacker & Keating, who are developing several lodes in Radersburg, run some quartz through an arrastra, the other day, which yielded $96 to the ton.  This establishes the fact that Radersburg possesses some of the best quartz in the Territory.
